The Mind Works in Mysterious Ways
Here is a glimpse to how my mind works:
I once was having an excellent hair day.
My curls looked exactly like double helices, comparable to DNA strands.
I once saw a preview to a movie coming out on September 2, 2011.
The numbers related really well.
Matrices have been the cause of many of my sleepless nights.
Though, when I do sleep, I just dream of the properties of logarithms.
Sometimes I find a random number in my head.
It only takes me a second to realize that I have been counting my steps.

Scrabble Games
Last New Year's Eve, I played a Scrabble game with both my mom and great grandma.
It was 5 a.m.
The score looked a lot like this. My grandma always in the lead with her extensive vocabulary.
From previous games, we learned not to challenge her words. But at the end of this particular game, we asked her what some of her words meant because we couldn't even pronounce them.
She thought for a second...
...then replied with a smile, with a smile, "I don't know."
CONCLUSION: She played us good.

Cooking with Ashlee
Because I love my sister, Ashlee, so much, I've decided to make fun of her in another post dedicate another post to her.
Here are a few tips Ashlee invented to help you with your cooking:
TIP #1
How to change up your pasta.
When we were younger, Ashlee and I were put to making spaghetti once. I have no clue where my mind was, but when it came time to actually make it, I realized I hadn't listened to word my mom said when she explained the "difficult" process. Luckily for me, Ashlee had listened.
First you add the pasta...
...then lots of oil...
...and just a few sprinkles of water.
Needless to say, that was NOT the correct way to make spaghetti. We ended up frying at least four packages until my dad came home and salvaged what was left.
TIP #2
How to "accidentally" get more of what you want.
Ashlee once attempted to make brownies for some kind of event, and decided that she needed to double the recipe.
However, she had trouble doubling the measurements, and ended up quadrupling the rest of the recipe.
TIP #3
How to skip steps to save time.
During Christmas time, there are lots of sweets made at my house. One year, Ashlee was in charge of making the sugar cookies. Though...
...not only did she toss the cookies in...
...when it came time to put the sugar on top...
...instead of taking the cookies out to sprinkle on the sugar, she just tossed the sugar in, too.

Fighting sickness
Perfect Weather
This is how the weather is in Utah on a daily basis*:
The news tells you that it's going to be a nice, 70 degree, perfect day.
So, you get excited.
You decide that it's a nice day for a walk.
But then it starts to rain.
You decide that you can handle a little water, so you continue.
If you think it's going to clear up, boy are you wrong. It's more like, "Oh, look! It's wind to blow in some nice natural disaster!"
And here you are welcomed with hail. Speeding. Painful. Hail.
By now you're thinking that you should turn around if you haven't already. But suddenly, cold weather hits. And I mean it's cold, cold. As in, too cold to snow.
But don't worry, though! It warms up enough so you can enjoy some nice snowflakes.
You get a bit cold, but luckily, the sun comes out before the snow soaks through your shoes.
But it doesn't. Turn. OFF.
A few minutes pass, and you find yourself in a state of being dangerously dehydrated, and deliriously searching for "home".
Utah weather is unstable.
(A guide to how to dress for such occasions will be forthcoming.)
*There has been NO exaggeration in this recollection.
